Neuron-specific Enolase (NSE)
Product Information Neuron-specific Enolase (NSE). Description: Neuron-specific Enolase (NSE). Purity: Ion-exchange chromatography and gel-filtration. Presentation: Solution in 0.1 M Tris-HCl, 5 mM Mg2SO4, 0.25 M KCl, pH 5.1 adjusted with sodium phosphate. Shipping Conditions: - 20 °C Source: Post mortal human brain. Blood sample from the tissue donor was tested and found negative for HBsAg, HCV, HIV-1 and 2 antibodies, and syphilis. Analysis: Purity > 95 % (SDS-PAGE). Immunological Activity: Specific activity is determined for each lot at 25 °C in 45 mM imidazole, pH 6.8, 45 mM KCl, 1.33 mM Mg2SO4; 1 mM 2-PG. One unit is defined as the amount of NSE converted 1 mol of 2-phospho-D-glycerate per min at 25 °C (J.Biochem. 87, 1587-1594, 1980). Subunit composition is gamma-gamma. Tested in ELISA and immunoblotting with anti-NSE antibodies. Comments: Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
