SARS-CoV-2 is a novel coronavirus causing COVID-19. In March 2020, the World Health Organization announced the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic. SARS-CoV-2 belongs to a large family of single-stranded RNA viruses (+ssRNA). Beta-coronaviruses such as SARS-CoVs can cross species barriers and cause in humans illness ranging from a common cold to more severe diseases such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndorme (SARS, identified in 2003) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS, identified in 2012).
COVID-19 related monoclonal antibodies are now available: eleven antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2 nucleoprotein and three antibodies specific to Spike (RBD). Please note that antibodies are produced as in vivo products. The same antibodies are also available in recombinant or in vitro formats.
Our recombinant SARS-CoV-2 Spike RBD antigen has been produced in mammalian cells. Purity is >95% and is provided in a lyophilized form that can be used for the development of COVID-19 serology (antibody) tests.
SARS-CoV-2 Spike RBD (cat. #8-CoVrbd) is a fragment Arg319-Phe541 of the spikes surface glycoprotein and contains the receptor binding domain of the virus. The protein contains a C-terminal His6-tag.
In addition, we provide monoclonal antibodies specific to different Ig classes: IgM, IgG and IgA which can be used as secondary antibodies in serology assays.
SARS-CoV-2, Nucleoprotein, recombinant (Cat.#8-CoVnp ) is a full-length recombinant antigen that can be used in serology assays for the detection of COVID-19 specific antibodies. The protein has a C-terminal His-tag. It is produced in E. coli and purity of the product is > 95%. The recombinant nucleoprotein is provided in a lyophilized form.
