Hybridoma clones have been derived from hybridization of Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells of Balb/c mice immunized with glycated (in vitro) synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal end of beta-globin.

Native human HbA1c, does not cross-react with non-glycated hemoglobin.
