New! The cardiac isoform of Troponin I (cTnI) is used as a gold standard as marker of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The region 24-40 aar of cTnI is a perspective target for monoclonal antibodies (MAb), because it is less affected by the action of autoantibodies and is not hindered by the other components of troponin … Read more
Heterophile antibodies arise when people are exposed to different animals or products derived from animals. These antibodies are typically human anti-mouse (HAMA), anti-rabbit, anti-goat, anti-sheep, anti-cow, anti-pig, anti-rat or anti-horse. As far as immunodiagnostics is concerned, the problem is most commonly associated with HAMA due to the fact that most diagnostics assays use mouse derived … Read more
Click here to download the Chimeric cardiac troponin I antibodies AssayNotes The problems associated with heterophile antibodies have been recognized for a number of decades. Estimates of the prevalence of heterophile antibodies vary considerably but as far as the general population is concerned, it is considered to be at least 10% (1). Heterophile antibodies arise … Read more

TnI exists in three isoforms, one for slow-twitch skeletal muscle, one for fast twitch skeletal muscle and one for cardiac muscle. The amino acid sequences of two skeletal (skTnI) and one cTnI forms show 40% dissimilarity. Furthermore, the human cTnI has additional amino acid residues on its Nterminal region that are not present on the skeletal form, making this protein a promising analyte for indicating cardiac specificity. cTnI follows similar release pattern as CK-MB within the first 15 hours of myocardial infarction (MI), but remains elevated in serum up to 6 days. This observation and the unique amino sequence of cTnI make it an important diagnostic marker of MI.
TnI is suitable for use as a standard in immunoassay for early detection of MI, immunogen for
antiserum production and tracer for iodination.[/description][/add_desc]
[add_desc][title]Analysis:[/title][description]Purity > 98 % (SDS-PAGE).
Immunological activity confirmed by reaction with monoclonal antibody that is specific for the troponin I cardiac isoform in immunoblotting.
TnI concentration was determined spectrophotometrically using A (0.1 %, 280 nm, 1 cm) equal to 0.42. This coefficient was calculated from the amino composition of human cTnI (FEBS Lett, 270, 57- 61).[/description][/add_desc]

The cardiac isoform of TnT is widely used as a marker of myocardial cell injury, just as cTnI is. cTnT has the same release kinetics into the bloodstream and the same sensitivity for minor myocardial injury as cTnI. In the blood of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients, cTnT is often found in a free form … Read more

Research Courtesy of HyTest, Ltd. The presence of cardiac troponin I autoantibodies in blood has been known for a long time. These autoantibodies bind to the stable part of cTnI and may be found in the blood of both healthy people and people with different diseases. They may interfere with the cTnI tests if the … Read more
